The Washington Redskins signed free-agent nose tackle Jerrell Powe and offensive lineman Willie Smith and waived offensive tackle Tovar Allen on Tuesday.

Terms of the contracts were not disclosed by the team.

Powe, a sixth-round draft pick in 2011 by the Kansas City Chiefs, made four starts in 28 games the past four seasons for the Chiefs and the Houston Texans. Three of his starts came in one season with the Texans in 2014.

Smith rejoins the Redskins after he was signed by Washington as a college free agent in 2011 and started three games as a rookie. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Smith went on to play in 29 games with 11 starts for the Redskins, Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers.

Last year, Smith started one game for the Chargers and played in a career-high 15 games. In 2013, he made seven starts for the Raiders.
