Redskins Sign Cary Williams
he Washington Redskins are adding a healthy body to the secondary ahead of Sunday’s wild-card showdown with the Packers. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that the team is signing former Seahawks and Ravens cornerback Cary Williams, per a source involved in the situation. ESPN first reported the news. Williams was waived last month by Seattle, but could see meaningful snaps in a defensive backfield that lost rookie defensive back Kyshoen Jarrett in Sunday’s win over the Dallas Cowboys. One of the secondary’s most versatile contributors, Jarrett has already been ruled out against Green Bay with a neck injury.
