Redskins cut roster to 53 players

The Washington Redskins reduced their roster to 53 players by making 21 cuts on Saturday.
Washington waived linebacker Houston Bates, wide receiver Reggie Bell, running back Mack Brown, fullback Jordan Campbell (designated as injured), tackle Takoby Cofield, defensive end Corey Crawford, defensive back DaMon Cromartie-Smith (with injury settlement), safety Akeem Davis (with injury settlement), wide receiver/cornerback Quinton Dunbar, tight end Je’Ron Hamm, linebacker Sage Harold, center/guard Tyler Larsen, wide receiver Colin Lockett, linebacker Terrance Plummer, center Austin Reiter, defensive lineman Travian Robertson, wide receiver Evan Spencer (designated as injured), defensive lineman Robert Thomas, tight end D.J. Williams (with injury settlement), and running back Trey Williams.
Also, the Redskins terminated the contract of nose tackle Jerrell Powe.
