RB Rainey stays with Buccaneers

Restricted free agent running back Bobby Rainey signed a one-year, $1.542 million tender offer with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Friday.

The 5-foot-8, 212-pound Rainey was claimed off waivers in 2013 from the Cleveland Browns. He played in 15 games and started five for the Buccaneers last year. The 27-year-old Rainey rushed for 406 yards and one touchdown on 94 carries and caught 33 passes for 315 yards and one touchdown in 2014. He is the team’s leading rusher the past two years with 972 yards and six touchdowns on 244 carries.
