Ravens Sign Babin in Place of Suggs
The Baltimore Ravens have zeroed in on their replacement for outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, who was lost for the season with an Achilles tendon injury. The team has signed veteran pass rusher Jason Babin to a one-year contract, NFL Media’s Rand Getlin reported, according to sources with knowledge of the signing. Every game, all season Babin, 35, was released by the Jets at final cuts after managing just two sacks in 16 games last season. The Ravens figure to turn to a rotation opposite Elvis Dumervil, with Courtney Upshaw remaining an early-down specialist and Babin battling fourth-round rookie Za’Darius Smith for sub-package snaps
