Ravens, S Lewis agree on three-year deal
The Baltimore Ravens agreed to terms with safety Kendrick Lewis on a three-year contract Saturday, general manager Ozzie Newsome announced.
Lewis, 26, started 16 games for the Houston Texans last year and had a team-high 84 tackles, six passes defensed, three forced fumbles and two interceptions. One of the interceptions was returned for a touchdown.
A five-year veteran, Lewis has 253 tackles, 28 passes defensed, nine interceptions, five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries during his NFL career. In 69 career games, Lewis has 66 starts, including 31 in the last two seasons.
Lewis played his first four NFL seasons in Kansas City, where he was selected out of Mississippi in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
Lewis will arrive in Baltimore early this coming week to take a physical, the Ravens announced.
