Ravens activate S Hill
The Baltimore Ravens activated safety Will Hill to the 53-man roster on Saturday after he served a six-game suspension to start the season.
Hill was suspended for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. He is eligible to play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
It was the third time in three years that Hill has been suspended. The New York Giants cut Hill after his latest suspension was announced in the summer and the Ravens picked him up.
Hill was banned four games in 2012 for performance-enhancing drug use after the Giants signed him as an undrafted free agent. He also missed the first four games of last season for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.
Hill, 24, will back up starter Darian Stewart but should eventually get significant playing time. He will be used sparingly on Sunday, according to the Baltimore Sun, mainly on special teams while getting some defensive snaps.
To make room for Hill, the Ravens placed defensive lineman Christo Bilukidi on injured reserve.
