Rams knock Roethlisberger out of game

ST. LOUIS – Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was injured in the third quarter of the team’s game against the St. Louis Rams Sunday.

Roethlisberger had his lower leg rolled into by a sprawling Rams safety Mark Barron on a sack with just under five minutes to play in the quarter. The injury was to Roethlisberger’s left knee and he was declared out for the rest of the game.

Roethlisberger was on the turf for several minutes before limping off the field and was replaced by Mike Vick.

The sack was the second in consecutive plays by the Rams defense. A

t that point, Roethlisberger had completed 19-of-23 passes for 188 yards. He entered the game needing 223 yards passing to reach 40,000 for his career.
