Raiders Hire Bill Musgrave as OC
The Oakland Raiders have made another key addition to their coaching staff.
Bill Musgrave will be the team’s new offensive coordinator, NFL Media columnist Michael Silver reported Monday. The team later announced the hire. Musgrave comes to Oakland from Philadelphia, where he served as quarterbacks coach on Chip Kelly’s staff during the 2014 season.
Musgrave has ties to new Raiders coach Jack Del Rio. Musgrave was offensive coordinator of the Jaguars in 2003 and 2004, Del Rio’s first two seasons as head coach in Jacksonville. Silver reported that the St. Louis Rams had also contemplated interviewing Musgrave, but withdrew interest. That cleared the path for Musgrave to land in Oakland.
