Raiders elevate TE Simonson from practice squad
The Oakland Raiders signed tight end Scott Simonson to the active roster from the practice squad and placed safety Jonathan Dowling on the reserve/injured list on Saturday.
Simonson originally signed with Oakland as an undrafted free agent in May, and was waived at the end of training camp before signing to the practice squad two days later.
Dowling, the Raiders’ seventh-round pick (247th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft, appeared in seven games this season, posting three tackles (two solo), while playing mostly on special teams.
