Raiders Agree To Terms With Kelechi Osemele
The Raiders will reportedly make Kelechi Osemele the highest paid interior lineman in NFL history. Find out what it means for them and Baltimore.
The Oakland Raiders have strengthened their interior offensive line as they have reportedly come to terms with former Baltimore Ravens guard Kelechi Osemele.
This move helps Oakland considerably as there’s growing sentiment in the league that interior offensive and defensive linemen are becoming as important as offensive tackles due to how interior pressure affects the quarterback.
The Raiders will still have to make a decision on free agent offensive tackle Donald Penn, who will be a hot commodity on the open market.
The Ravens restructured quarterback Joe Flacco’s contract in part to re-sign Osemele, but the Raiders offer which is rumored to be around $11 million per season was simply more than Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome was willing to play.
Baltimore could next turn their focus toward Bills offensive guard Richie Incognito, who is turning into a hot commodity.
Here is our list of the top available free agent offensive linemen.
