Peterson does not testify during appeal

Published

Adrian Peterson had a chance to testify Tuesday during his appeal hearing in New York and according to NFL.com, the suspended running decided not to.

The Minnesota Vikings running back is hoping to have his suspension overturned after NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell punished him for violating the league’s personal conduct policy for what the league called an “incident of abusive discipline” toward his 4-year-old son.

The hearing is expected to resume Thursday.

NFL.com said third-party arbitrator Harold Henderson asked Peterson if he would like to speak and he did for around 10 minutes, but he was not called as a witness.

NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent is slated to testify Thursday according to reports.

The players’ union filed the appeal on Peterson’s behalf saying the NFL did not allow due process.

According to the suspension, Peterson will not be considered for reinstatement before April 15.
