Patriots RB Gray sent home

Published

on

New England Patriots running back Jonas Gray, who had a breakout game last Sunday, was sent home Friday after he reportedly overslept and arrived late to the team facility.

Gray’s phone died so his alarm did not go off, a source told Mark Garafolo of FOX Sports. When Gray arrived at Gillette Stadium, coach Bill Belichick told him to leave.

Gray texted teammates to apologize, Garafolo reported, and planned to return later in the day to apologize to Belichick in person.

Gray’s gaffe comes a day after the Patriots brought back running back LeGarrette Blount, who played for the Patriots in 2013 and was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers this week.

Gray, 24, ran for 201 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11.
