Panthers’ Williams out at least two more weeks
Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams will miss at least two more weeks with a high ankle sprain that already has forced him to miss two games, coach Ron Rivera told reporters Monday.
Williams, 31, suffered the injury Sept. 28 against Baltimore. He also sat out Weeks 2 and 3 with a hamstring injury. He has played in just two games this season, rushing for 106 yards on 25 carries.
Meanwhile, running back Jonathan Stewart could return Sunday for Carolina’s game at Green Bay. Stewart has missed three straight games with a knee injury. He ran for 88 yards in the first three games.
Rivera also said cornerback Josh Norman (concussion) will be re-evaluated Tuesday and backup cornerback Bené Benwikere (ankle) is doubtful for Green Bay.
