The Carolina Panthers signed offensive tackle David Foucault to the active roster from the practice squad on Saturday and waived defensive end Wes Horton.

With guard Amini Silatolu sidelined with an ankle injury for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Panthers needed additional depth on the offensive line.

The 6-foot-8, 320-pound Foucault played in five games with one start for Carolina in 2014. He was initially signed as a tryout player after being selected fifth overall in the 2014 Canadian Football League draft by the Montreal Alouettes. He spent the first three weeks of this season on the Panthers’ practice squad.

Horton signed with the Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2013 and appeared in 29 games with 16 starts in three seasons.
