Panthers LB Kuechly out vs. Buccaneers
The Sports Xchange
Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly is out for Sunday’s game, his third in a row sitting while recovering from a head injury.
Kuechly gets next week off — Carolina’s bye week — but is likely to return for Week 6.
The Panthers are 4-0 heading to Tampa Bay to face No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston and the Buccaneers (1-2).
A.J. Klein will make another start at middle linebacker in the spot of Kuechly, who was concussed Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and hasn’t played or practiced since then.
The Panthers expect running backs Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert to play at Tampa. Both players practiced Friday and are probable.
