Packers’ Guion arrested for marijuana, firearm
Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion was arrested Tuesday night in his hometown of Starke, Fla., for felony possession of marijuana and a firearm.
According to reports, the marijuana charge also is a felony because Guion was allegedly in possession of more than 20 grams of the illegal substance.
Starke Police captain Barry Warren confirmed that Guion was arrested late Tuesday night. The full police report was expected to be available later Wednesday, Warren said.
“We are aware of a serious matter involving Letroy Guion,” the Packers said in a statement. “We have not yet spoken to Letroy and we will have no further comment.”
Guion, 27, just completed his first season with the Packers. He started all 16 games, recording 32 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
Guion was a fifth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2008 and played there until 2013. He signed a one-year, $1 million contract with Green Bay in March 2014. He is slated to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
