SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Quarterback Colin Kaepernick is one of six 49ers starters who also started in the Super Bowl loss to Baltimore on Feb. 3, 2013.

The others are tight end Vernon Davis, offensive tackle Joe Staley, guard Alex Boone, inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman and outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks.

A seventh guy (center Daniel Kilgore) would be starting if not for an injury.

The Ravens have endured an even greater turnovers.

Baltimore has retained only four starters from that game: quarterback Joe Flacco, guards Marshall Yanda and Kelechi Osemele, and linebacker Courtney Upshaw.

The Ravens have two injured players — tight end Dennis Pitta and linebacker Terrell Suggs — who would otherwise be on that list.

–Can momentum be gained in a loss?

Surely, some coaches would say yes.

49ers coach Jim Tomsula won’t go there.

“The record is the record,” he insisted of his 1-4 club, which has lost four in a row. “We play this game to win.

“Are there positives (to be gained from last week’s 30-27 New York Giants)? Yeah. There’s positives in every game that you lose, and there’s negatives in every game that you win. You know I want to hurry up and get to addressing negatives after a win. Spend more time there.”

–The 49ers hope to have two key players available to use against the Ravens who didn’t face the Giants on Sunday night.

Outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks basically is a sure-thing. He spent the better part of a week in Louisiana following the death of his older sister, Krsunthia.

The 49ers were expecting him back at practice toward the end of the week and to be well rested for the Baltimore game.

Tight end Vernon Davis is more of a question mark, mostly because he seemed to be doing well last week before failing the ultimate test on his bruised knee before the Giants game.

Davis is expected to practice at even a higher rate this week, which should increase his chances of returning from a two-game absence. He had six catches for 104 yards in the 49ers’ Super Bowl loss to the Ravens.

NOTES: Quarterback Colin Kaepernick will face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday for the first time since the Super Bowl that culminated the 2012 season. Kaepernick passed for 302 yards and rushed for 62 and a touchdown in that 34-31 loss. … Running back Reggie Bush (calf) probably will miss Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens after reinjuring his calf in the Week 5 loss to the New York Giants. Bush already has sat out two games this season because of calf issues. … Wide receiver Andrew Turzilli was signed to the 49ers’ practice squad. The undrafted rookie from Rutgers went to training camp with the Tennessee Titans. He has never played in an NFL regular-season game.

Folkerts has 28 games of NFL experience over two seasons with the Carolina Panthers. … Inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman made 11 tackles the last time the 49ers faced the Baltimore Ravens in the 2012 Super Bowl. Bowman had 16 tackles in the Week 5 loss to the New York Giants. … Strong safety Antoine Bethea has recorded three interceptions in his seven career games against the Baltimore Ravens. … Kicker Phil Dawson had arguably the best game of his career against this week’s opponent, the Baltimore Ravens. Kicking at the time for the Cleveland Browns, Dawson connected on 50-, 51- and 52-yard field goals against the Ravens on Sept. 27, 2011.
