NFLPA president Winston signs with Bengals

Published

NFL Players Association returned to the league on Tuesday when the Cincinnati Bengals signed him to a one-year contract.

The 31-year-old Winston was last with the Seattle Seahawks in training camp this summer but failed to make the cut.

The Bengals were looking for offensive line help after losing right tackle Andre Smith last week to a season-ending triceps injury. He was placed on injured reserve.

Winston, a veteran who several years ago was considered one of the top tackles in the NFL, has played in 124 games and started 119 games in eight seasons. He spent 2006 to 2011 with the Houston Texans and 2012 with the Kansas City Chiefs.

“Who dey! who dey! who dey think goin to beat them Bengals!?!?!” Winston said Tuesday on Twitter.
