The Houston Texans’ top two quarterbacks, Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett, rebounded from poor showings last week to lead the team to 27-13 win over the New Orleans Saints in preseason action on Sunday.

Hoyer, who was named the starter for the regular season this week, completed 7 of 11 passes for 82 yards while leading the Texans to 10 points on his first two drives.

Mallett completed 9 of 17 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown.

The Saints, who played their offensive stars for just the opening series, were led by quarterback Luke McCown’s 8 of 17 for 117 yards.

New Orleans’ No. 1 quarterback Drew Brees led the Saints 75 yards for a field goal in his lone series on the field.
