After Ryan Lindley’s dismal showing last week, Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians decided to turn to Logan Thomas at quarterback for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers. But those plans apparently changed.

Arians is going back to Lindley as the starter, The Arizona Republic reported Thursday.

Lindley has no touchdown passes and eight interceptions in 225 career pass attempts. He completed just 40.7 percent of his passes (22 of 54 for 246 yards and one interception) last week in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Thomas, a rookie fourth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, is considered a project and looked shaky during practice, the Republic reported.

–Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was fined $11,050 by the NFL for his actions while scoring a touchdown on Sunday, ProFootballTalk.com reported.

To finish his 79-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 35-6 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, Lynch did a backward dive into the end zone while grabbing his crotch. Apparently, the NFL did not approve.

Lynch was not penalized at the time for the move, which the league considered unsportsmanlike conduct.

–New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was fined $10,000 by the league for his actions during Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams that featured three ejections after a brawl on the sideline, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

The brawl started after Beckham was the victim of a late hit by Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree. Beckham then kicked Ogletree while Ogeltree was on the ground after the tackle, and that was the action that led to Beckham’s fine.

In all, six players were fined for their actions in the game.

–Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said reports that his family and friends are encouraging his brother, San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh. to take the Michigan job are untrue.

“I don’t know where that came from, but it didn’t come from the Harbaughs,” John Harbaugh said. “My dad and I both said (to Jim), don’t tell us. If something gets out, we don’t want the finger pointed at us. Leave us out of it and don’t tell us what you’re going to do.”

–Peyton Manning isn’t ready to call it a career, and the Denver Broncos aren’t about to push him out the door. A day after the 38-year-old quarterback said he plans to return to the Broncos in 2015, Denver coach John Fox said Thursday that he would happily bring back Manning.

“I would say when you’re kind of in the top three quarterbacks in the league, maybe the top of all time, I’d say there’s a pretty good likelihood (of him returning),” Fox said. “He’s had a tremendous year, there is no doubt. We’ve still got things to get done and (we are) looking forward to the opportunity.”

–Despite the struggles of two rookie first-round picks, quarterback Johnny Manziel and cornerback Justin Gilbert, Cleveland Browns coach Mike Pettine isn’t giving up on the two.

“Are we ready to write both of those players off as busts because they didn’t produce as rookies?” Pettine said, according to The Plain Dealer in Cleveland. “I’m not anywhere near that point. That’s just a knee-jerk. Some rookies come in and play right away. Others it takes some time.”
