The NFL Players Association released the transcript of Tom Brady’s testimony in his June arbitration hearing regarding his alleged role in the deflated footballs controversy.

The players union released the 457-page transcript in a filing Tuesday in New York federal court on Tuesday.

Making the transcript of the 10-hour hearing public could add another layer to this controversy.

Brady was suspended for four games by the NFL for his role in tampering with footballs in the AFC Championship Game.

In the transcript of his hearing, Brady denies tampering with footballs in that game and denies telling anyone else to do so.

Despite Brady’s claims, the four-game suspension was upheld by commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL. The NFLPA then appealed that ruling to federal court.

Federal Judge Richard Berman has ordered Brady and Goodell to appear before him next week after urging them to settle. Berman ordered the NFL and the NFLPA not to submit materials — including the transcript of the Brady hearing — under seal.

–Houston Texans running back Arian Foster suffered a serious groin injury in Monday’s training camp practice and will require surgery.

According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, Foster will have surgery but should be ready to return sometime during the regular season.

Foster, 28, missed 11 games in the past two seasons and played in 13 games in 2014.

–Quarterback Sam Bradford and the Philadelphia Eagles are discussing a short-term contract extension.

ESPN reported the Eagles want to sign Bradford to a new deal as he enters his first season with the team. Bradford was acquired with a draft pick from the St. Louis Rams for Nick Foles, a 2015 fourth-round pick and a 2016 second-round draft pick.

Bradford, 27, is making a positive impression in his return to the field from a second ACL injury. He will earn $12.95 million in 2015.

–New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was paid $4 million of his $10 million bonus due in 2016 as part of a six-year, $54 million deal signed three years ago.

Gronkowski’s contract was split into two parts. The final four years of the deal are triggered when the bonus — initially a $10 million payment — is received by the 26-year-old All-Pro. Dividing the bonus into two payments rewards Gronkowski and softens the cap charge, depending on when the Patriots opt to pay the remaining $6 million.

He is now signed through 2019.

–Former UCLA and Detroit Lions running back Mel Farr died Monday, the family confirmed. Farr was 70.

Farr played seven NFL season with the Lions (1967-73) and was named Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1967.

–Terrelle Pryor, who is trying to transition to wide receiver with the Cleveland Browns after being a quarterback, came up lame with a hamstring strain during practice. The extent of the injury was not immediately known.

Coach Mike Pettine said he didn’t get the sense the injury was serious. However, Pryor said he was scheduled for an MRI to determine his recovery time.

–Suspended wide receiver Justin Blackmon is unlikely to return to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In an interview at the Scouting Combine in February, general manager Dave Caldwell expressed guarded optimism about Blackmon, a first-round pick in 2012, returning this season. But with no contact between the parties and no signs of progress reported from the NFL, hope is faint.

–The father of Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon after a shooting at a bar in Rock Hill, S.C.

David Morgan was arrested and in jail awaiting a bond hearing on Wednesday, Rock Hill Police Capt. Mark Bollinger said.

–The Cincinnati Bengals cleared defensive end Margus Hunt to practice after passing a physical.

The 28-year-old Hunt began training camp on the physically unable to perform list after reinjuring his back while lifting weights during the offseason. He missed the first four days of camp.

–The San Diego Chargers signed cornerback Jordan Mabin, the team announced.

To make room on the roster for Mabin, the Chargers released wide receiver Demetrius Wilson, an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas.

–The Arizona Cardinals signed cornerback Jonte Green and released cornerback Damond Smith, the team announced Tuesday.

He was signed by the Buffalo Bills in January 2015 but was released in April.

–The Miami Dolphins claimed wide receiver Kevin Cone off waivers from the Cleveland Browns.

The Dolphins waived guard Dionte Savage to clear roster space for Cone.
