Mike Tomlin: Big Ben Could Play Better

Published

on

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has not built on the two-game stretch earlier this season in which he threw for a combined 862 yards and 12 touchdowns in wins over the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens. Far from it.

Roethlisberger has thrown just four touchdown passes while tossing five interceptions in the Steelers’ last three games. He had completed less than 50 percent of his passes last Sunday in a 35-32 loss to New Orleans before connecting on 13 of his final 16 throws after the Saints had all but put the game out of reach.

“He hasn’t been as accurate as he had been,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. “Some of it is due to pressure created in the pocket. Some it is due to game circumstances. Some we are lacking a little cohesion. [Roethlisberger] could play better. We all could play better. We’re looking forward to doing it this week.”
