Former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb was arrested on DUI charges for the second time in less than two years after a traffic accident last month in Arizona.

McNabb rear-ended a car stopped at a traffic light in Gilbert, Ariz., on June 28, according to a police statement on Tuesday.

The 38-year-old McNabb’s blood-alcohol level was not specified by Gilbert police. He was cited and released after being taken into custody.

The Gilbert police report said: “On 06/28/2015 at approximately 2335 hours, officers responded to a non-injury collision involving two vehicles which occurred just west of the intersection at E Chandler Heights Rd and S Higley Rd in Gilbert, AZ. Subsequent investigation revealed Donovan McNabb (11/25/76) was impaired by alcohol and collided in a rear-end fashion with another vehicle which was stopped at a red traffic signal. Donovan was arrested for DUI at 2358 hours and transported to the Gilbert/Chandler Unified Holding Facility for processing, after which, he was cited and released.”

After a 2013 arrest, McNabb spent one day in jail on misdemeanor DUI charges in Arizona.

McNabb last played in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings in 2011 before retiring. He led the Philadelphia Eagles to four consecutive NFC Championship games from 2001 to 2004 and a Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots in 2005.
