McCoy expected to start at QB for Redskins
Colt McCoy reportedly will start at quarterback over Robert Griffin III for the Washington Redskins against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night.
McCoy was the favorite to start ever since coach Jay Gruden promoted him ahead of Kirk Cousins last week.
Griffin, who has missed five games with a dislocated ankle, has been practicing, but he said last week that he did not want to rush his return.
Gruden had said Griffin needed to be 100 percent to play.
The start will be McCoy’s first since Dec. 8, 2011.
He replaced Cousins against the Tennessee Titans last week and led the Redskins to a 19-17 win, completing 11 of 12 passes for 128 yards and one touchdown.
