Matt Forte : I’m Not Mad or Holding a Grudge
Matt Forte wants everyone to know that his absence from this week’s voluntary minicamp is not due to any perceived contract slight.
The Chicago Bears running back enters the final year of a $30.4 million contract he signed in 2012. Forte skipped the first day of the Bears voluntary minicamp Tuesday, continuing his trend of missing earlier workouts and also leading to speculation that his decision was contract-driven.
“It’s time to set the record straight, Forte said in a statement posted on Instagram. “If the Bears want to give me a contract ext. they will; if they don’t they won’t. I’m not mad or holding a grudge. I don’t operate like that.”
