Lynch: Media will keep him out of HOF
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch believes a media conspiracy will keep him out of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Lynch, who generally does not speak to reporters, told former teammate Michael Robinson of NFL Network in an interview that his relationship with the media will prevent him from entering the Hall of Fame.
“You know who votes for that,” Lynch said. “They don’t seem to … see eye to eye with me — which is cool. And if I’m not, (expletive), I’ll still live.”
Lynch has had a very good NFL career but regardless of how he relates to the media, his numbers may be what leaves him out. He is currently 39th all-time in rushing yards and No. 34 in rushing touchdowns.
In eight seasons, he has had five 1,000-yard seasons and is a four-time Pro Bowler.
Entering Sunday, Lynch has 956 rushing yards this season so he appears to be on his way to a sixth 1,000-yard season.
There are just 29 running backs from the modern era who are in the Hall of Fame.
