Former New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Lance Moore landed a new job with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday.

The veteran Moore and the Lions reached agreement on a one-year contract, according to the team’s website. Moore spent last season with the Steelers after eight years with the Saints.

Moore should be familiar with the Lions’ offense, having previously worked with Detroit coordinator Joe Lombardi while he was with the Saints. Lombardi was an offensive assistant and quarterback coach in New Orleans while Moore was there.

With Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate established as the Lions’ starters going into the 2015 season, Moore is expected to add to the receiving corps’ depth.

Last season with the Steelers, Moore finished with 14 catches for 198 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games. He signed a two-year, $3 million contract with the Steelers before last season but was released in March.

Moore has 346 career receptions for 4,281 yards and 38 touchdowns. He ranks among the top five receivers in Saints history in touchdowns catches and catches.
