Lions WR Johnson ‘going good’ in England

Published

on

All signs are pointing to Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson returning to the field for Sunday’s game in London.

Johnson missed the past two games but after sprinting in the team’s first workout in Bagshot, England, and then working agility drills on Wednesday, the All-Pro might be ready to go against the Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium.

“We’re doing everything from straight-forward running to moving laterally as well,” Johnson said. “Things are going good. We’re moving in a positive direction.”

Head coach Jim Caldwell could go the conservative route, resting Johnson with a bye week ahead to guarantee he’s back with the 5-2 Lions at full strength for the second half of the season.

In Johnson’s absence, free-agent aquisition Golden Tate picked up his production. Tate is on pace for 102 receptions and five touchdowns.
