Lions WR Johnson (ankle) misses practice again

Published

on

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson missed practice again Friday with an ankle injury and his status appeared in doubt for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Johnson, who has a high-ankle sprain, also missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

If Johnson is out, Golden Tate will be the Lions’ primary receiving target.

Johnson has tried to play on the ankle injury in each of the last two games, catching just three passes for 19 yards.

Running back Reggie Bush (ankle) also missed practice for the third day in a row.

Bush’s prospects of playing appear to be greater than Johnson’s.

“Ankle’s good,” Bush told a Detroit radio station Thursday. “It feels good. I’m preparing this week. You saw me walk in here, I look good. No limp … No, the ankle feels good. It’s nothing severe. I’m going to prepare this week as if I’m playing.”
