Lions sign TE Davis

Published

on

The Detroit Lions signed veteran tight end Kellen Davis on Monday.

The move will give the Lions more depth at tight end after Joseph Fauria (ankle) and Eric Ebron (hamstring) sat out Week 7. Tight end Brandon Pettigrew injured his ankle in Sunday’s 24-23 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Davis spent five years with the Chicago Bears before joining the Seattle Seahawks for 2013. He caught three passes in 15 appearances last season.

Davis was cut by the New York Giants before the start of this season. He has 50 catches for 561 yards and 12 touchdowns in his career.

The Lions also waived safety Jerome Couplin and signed wide receiver Ifeanyi Momah to the practice squad.
