Detroit Lions running back George Winn joined the active roster on Tuesday, an indication that injured running back Joique Bell is likely to miss at least Sunday’s game.

Winn, who played high school football in Detroit, was elevated from the practice squad as insurance. The Cincinnati product signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2013 and has been on the practice squad of the New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders and Lions.

Bell, 28, is the physical between-the-tackles back for the Lions and also a gifted receiver. He was diagnosed with a concussion in Sunday’s victory over the New York Jets.
