Lions sign first-rounder Tomlinson
The Sports Xchange
First-round pick Laken Tomlinson signed a four-year deal with an option for a fifth year worth about $8.3 million with the Detroit Lions.
The team inked most of its draft class to contracts before the start of rookie camp last month, and second-round pick Ameer Abdullah signed a four-year, $4.16-million deal about a week later.
Tomlinson is expected to start at left guard in 2015 but has worked out mostly behind veteran Manny Ramirez. Ramirez was acquired from the Denver Broncos in the draft-day trade that allowed Denver to move up for pass rusher Shane Ray.
