Lions sign DT Fluellen

After losing Tyrunn Walker for the rest of the season as a result of an injury sustained on Monday, the Detroit Lions needed help at defensive tackle.

So they turned to a familiar face, signing veteran defensive tackle Andre Fluellen.

This is the ninth time that the Lions have added Fluellen to their roster.

They initially signed him in 2008 after drafting him in the third round. They re-signed him in 2011 and again in 2012.

After being released he signed with the Miami Dolphins, but he returned to the Lions later in the 2012 season and played two games for Detroit.

He left for the Chicago Bears in 2013, but was soon back in Detroit for most of the 2013 season.

He spent some time in Buffalo this year, but now finds himself back with the Lions.

Fluellen played in eight games for Detroit last year and participated in 13 games for the Lions in 2013.

Haloti Ngata, another Lions interior defensive lineman, is bothered by a calf injury, so the Lions have depth issues in the defensive line.
