Lions Select RB Ameer Abdullah
See why the Detroit Lions found their Reggie Bush replacement.
While a lot of the guys with character issues get the headlines, former Nebraska Cornhusker standout Ameer Abdullah is the polar opposite. Coaches and scouts rave about his character on and off the field.
The 5-foot-9, 205 pound back is not only good on the ground, but he’s a threat in the passing game as well. Abdullah won’t blow you away with exceptional speed, however, he runs very hard and has a high football IQ that’s simply not coachable.
Detroit’s leading rusher last year was Joique Bell, who only rushed for 860 yards. With the loss of Reggie Bush, Abdullah could become the second piece of a dynamic duo in the Motor City.
