Detroit Lions defensive tackle Haloti Ngata is beginning training camp on the list for non-football injuries.

Ngata has a minor hamstring injury, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported Monday.

Ngata remains on the active roster and can come off the NFI list at any time before the season. The Lions opened camp on Monday.

The Lions acquired the 31-year-old Ngata from the Baltimore Ravens in March — ostensibly to replace departed star Ndamukong Suh.

The five-time Pro Bowl player had spent his entire nine-year career with the Ravens. Last season, after being suspended for the final four games for violating the league policy on performance-enhancing drugs, the defensive tackle returned to collect 32 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions.

A first-round draft pick by the Ravens in 2006, Ngata totaled 528 tackles, 25 1/2 sacks and five interceptions for Baltimore.
