Lions claim DL Thornton, release Kitchen
The Sports Xchange
The Detroit Lions claimed defensive lineman Khyri Thornton off waivers from the New England Patriots on Friday.
The Patriots had claimed Thornton off waivers from the Packers last month, then cut him 10 days later before bringing him back to the active roster on Oct. 1.
Thornton had been on the Patriots practice squad since then before being waived.
The Lions also released defensive lineman Ishmaa’ily Kitchen, who had been signed two weeks ago.
Lions defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, who missed the past two games with a calf injury, is listed as probable for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
