Lions’ Caldwell Doesn’t ‘Condone’ Play by Raiola

Published

on

Caldwell said he spoke with Raiola about his play and that the NFL is looking into it for potential discipline. NFL Network reported that Raiola will not fined.

As for Mosley, Caldwell said he did not yet speak with the defensive tackle, but that his play “was flagged and it was flagged appropriately.”

“When you’re dealing with a place where you haven’t been before, it’s a constant battle every single day,” Caldwell said. “Every single moment, so that’s not anything unusual. But I think most of the time that our guys are guys that listen. Every once in a while, you run into a guy that’s not swayed by either threats or eloquence and, so, if that’s the case, you’ve got to get rid of him. But nevertheless, we don’t have guys like that and our guys just keep striving to do what we want to get done.”

Caldwell said “we don’t condone” the questionable plays by Raiola or Mosley, but he stopped short of calling either play dirty, as the Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork intimated after Sunday’s game.
