Keenan Lewis, Saints Restructure Deal
If New Orleans Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis was unhappy last week, he’s certainly a happy man now.
After a series of social media posts last proclaiming he wanted more security in New Orleans following a flurry of releases and trades, Lewis got just that.
The Saints have restructured Lewis’ contract, according to a source, guaranteeing an additional $10.4 million and giving him more money upfront. Lewis is not getting any additional money with the restructure.
They are now $1.7 million under the salary cap with the addition of running back C.J. Spiller ($2 million cap hit) and a minor cap reduction for Lewis ($350,000 in cap savings).
