Julius Peppers: Final Play With Bears Cost Me My Job

Julius Peppers remembers his nightmarish defensive final snap in Chicago all too well.

Because, well, he says it’s a major reason he’s now in Green Bay. On fourth and 8, fullback John Kuhn chipped Peppers, allowing Aaron Rodgers to hit Randall Cobb for a 48-yard game-winning touchdown. Peppers was a breath away from a game-winning sack.

“I was pretty close. I was pretty close,” Peppers said. “We joked about it. He actually cost me my job. He got me released. I guess it turned out pretty good.”
