Joe Montana Won’t Call Tom Brady The GOAT

See what Joe Montana said about Tom Brady.

After leading the New England Patriots back from a 25-point deficit in Super Bow LI, fans and media are officially proclaiming Tom Brady as the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. With this win, Brady became the only quarterback to win five Super Bowl titles.

In the eyes of many, the only quarterback left for Brady to surpass was the great Joe Montana, who has four championships. When asked if Brady is the best ever, the Hall of Famer had an interesting answer.

“I mean, he’s obviously having a tremendous career. I think it’s just hard to put anyone in that bucket.”

“Even before he got five, you look back to some of the guys some people don’t even know. Sammy Baugh or Otto Graham, I can’t remember which one, but one of them won like seven or nine championships — and so far ahead of their time,” Montana said. “It’s hard to compare guys from then to now, how they would compare here and we would compare then.”

Montana makes some valid points, but at the same time, it’s not going to stop people from labeling Brady as the greatest ever.
