Jim Irsay Doesn’t Plan On Making Any Changes

See if Jim Irsay plans to clean house following the season.

After losing to the Houston Texans for a second time this season, the Indianapolis Colts are in serious danger of missing the playoffs for a second straight year. Considering the expectations this franchise sets year in and year out, it’s fair to wonder if owner Jim Irsay would consider firing head coach Chuck Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson.

When asked about the possibility, Irsay didn’t sound too committed.

“Honestly, at the end of every season, we sit down and review where we’re at,” Irsay told USA TODAY Sports. “I don’t have any anticipation of change. There’s no plan of that. We’ll evaluate everything. I will.

“Look, if you can improve your franchise, even if you’re doing well, you’re going to make that move. You just are — at least I am. It’s about winning and winning the right way and trying to sustain success over a large period of time. We’re used to being in the playoffs. This is the first time in almost 20 years we (wouldn’t have) made the playoffs in back-to-back years. That’s extremely disappointing.

“We hold out the hope we can win three, though, and get everything to fall our way.”

Based on Irsay’s remarks, if the Colts miss the playoffs again, Pagano and Grigson should be very uncomfortable moving forward, to say the least.
