Jets WR Decker’s injury not serious

Eric Decker might need a week or more of rest, but no surgery is required on his ailing left knee, the New York Jets learned Tuesday.

Decker caught eight passes for 97 yards and a touchdown in Monday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts, all in the first half. He limped off in the fourth quarter when he said he “landed goofy” on a deep incompletion.

Chris Owusu or Quincy Enunwa would join Brandon Marshall in the starting lineup if Decker is sidelined. Decker said he will not rush back to the field after trying to fight through a hamstring strain in 2014.

“I’m going to be smart about it this time,” he said. “I’m not going to rush myself. Obviously, I want to be out there as soon as possible, but we’re going to take the proper steps.”
