Jets WR Decker inactive
New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker was on the inactive list Sunday against the San Diego Chargers due to his lingering hamstring injury.
Decker has been bothered by the injury since training camp, and coach Rex Ryan said it would be up to Decker’s sense for his own body in calling him a game-time decision this week.
Decker left Thursday’s practice with tightness in his left hamstring and did not participate Friday.
“He’s a pro. He knows his body,” Ryan said. “I think he works hard to get out there on the field, but yeah, sometimes it’s, ‘Do you play him? Do you sit him? Do you do whatever?’ If you know what really helps a guy moving forward maybe you decide to sit a guy, but he’s a guy that answers the bell. I think he’s missed one game in his career, so he’s a tough guy.”
