Jets waive injured TE Sudfeld
The Sports Xchange
The New York Jets on Monday waived tight end Zach Sudfeld, who tore an anterior cruciate ligament during a noncontact drill in minicamp last week.
Sudfeld, a key player on specials teams, was replaced on the roster by Steve Maneri. A 27-year-old tight end, Maneri has played for six teams in six seasons, most recently the New England Patriots last year.
Sudfeld was picked up in 2013 from the Patriots. He led the Jets with 20 special teams tackles in 2014.
He could be placed on season-ending injured reserve if he clears waivers.
