The New York Jets signed their top two draft picks Friday.

USC defensive lineman Leonard Williams was the sixth overall pick. Terms were not revealed, but he was expected to get a four-year deal worth $16.5 million.

Ohio State wide receiver Devin Smith, the No. 37 overall pick, also signed — meaning the Jets have all six picks under contract.

They signed fifth-round defensive tackle Jarvis Harrison on Wednesday night and third-round linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin, fourth-round quarterback Bryce Petty and seventh-round defensive tackle Deon Simon on Thursday.

Petty will start out fourth on the depth chart behind Geno Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Matt Simms, but he understands.

After the Jets’ rookie minicamp practice Friday, Petty said, “It’s a mountain that I’m ready to climb and that I’m excited to climb. … Right now, I have to pay my dues.”

Petty, who came from Baylor’s spread shotgun offense, will have to learn how to take snaps at the line of scrimmage and make more than one read, but first-year coach Todd Bowles is confident he will learn quickly.

“He’s not changing sports and coming in raw,” Bowles said. “He has to take snaps under center, he has to learn what to do — no different than most of the other quarterbacks that are coming out. That doesn’t mean they’re bad quarterbacks; that just means they have a learning process.”
