Jets May Stick With Bryce Petty At QB
After Sunday’s 9-6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in which the New York Jets offense had just 157 yards passing, head coach Todd Bowles hasn’t ruled out the possibility of sticking with second-year quarterback Bryce Petty as his starter.
“We’ll evaluate that next week as we go forward,” Bowles said. “We have a bye week to evaluate it and I’ll see how Fitz feels. We’ll watch the film on Bryce and make a determination middle of next week.”
When asked if he would definitely go back to Ryan Fitzpatrick when he’s healthy, Bowles gave a non-answer.
“We will evaluate everything next week. We have time to evaluate it. I’m not naming anybody going forward. I’ll look at the film and see how Ryan is feeling, and go from there,” the Jets head coach explained.
Once again, it comes down to evaluating the future which could cost Bowles his job in the present or trying to win now.
