Jets extend WR Kerley’s contract
The New York Jets signed wide receiver Jeremy Kerley a four-year contract extension through 2018 reported to be worth $16 million.
The deal includes $5.4 million guaranteed, according to reports. Kerley was in the final year of his rookie contract.
Kerley’s contract extension follows on the heels of the Jets recently acquiring Percy Harvin from the Seattle Seahawks to add to their receiving corps. The Jets now have Kerley, Harvin and wideout Eric Decker signed through the 2018 season.
The 5-foot-8 Kerley was drafted in the fifth round in 2011 and in his first three seasons in the NFL has averaged 40 catches per year.
This season, he has 22 receptions for 201 yards and one touchdown.
