Jerry Jones Wants Tony Romo To Be Ready Just In Case

Find out why Jerry Jones wants Tony Romo to be ready.

At (11-1), the Dallas Cowboys are looking like a well-oiled machine, to say the least. Since dropping the season opener against the New York Giants, Jerry Jones’ ball club hasn’t lost a game since. Despite all of that, the billionaire owner wants backup quarterback Tony Romo to be prepared just in case his number gets called.

“I want to do what gives us the best chance to have Tony contribute to a championship,” Jones stated. “I do want Tony to be ready to go in case that Dak should have an issue, health wise. That gives us strength going into the playoffs.

“Not from the standpoint of necessarily protecting Dak … but from the standpoint of having Tony the readiest to come in and play would be my quick assessment.”

Now, Jones saves face by mentioning if Dak Prescott were to have any health issues, however, this still may put a little pressure on the rookie signal-caller moving forward.
