Jaguars Place TE Marcedes Lewis On Injured Reserve

Published

The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis on injured reserve, according to NFL Media.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed fourth-year defensive tackle Jordan Hill off waivers from Washington, the club announced today. To make room on the 53-man roster, the Jaguars have placed 11th-year tight end Marcedes Lewis on the team’s reserve/injured list.

Hill, 6-1, 291, was originally a third-round selection (87th overall) by Seattle in the 2013 NFL Draft and appeared in 27 games for the Seahawks during the 2013-15 seasons. Hill sustained a hamstring injury in the fourth game of the 2016 preseason and was placed on Seattle’s reserve/injured list on Sept. 3, 2016. He was released from Seattle on Oct. 16 and signed with Washington Nov. 8, however he was waived by Washington on Nov. 19. Hill was a part of the Seahawks’ Super Bowl XLVIII team and played collegiately at Penn State, where he was a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2013.

Lewis, who has appeared in the fourth-most games in franchise history (154), sustained a right calf injury during the Jaguars’ Week 11 game at Detroit.

Lewis has likely played his last game with the team as there will be wholesale changes in the organization following this season.
